Processing 5 TB of Data Daily with Hadoop and Cassandra
The NoSQL Now! conference
On August 21–23, 2012, Altoros took part in NoSQL Now! The company’s CEO, Renat Khasanshyn, presented a session called “Case Study: Making Hadoop and Cassandra Work Together to process 5 TB of Data Daily.” His presentation included the description of real data-intensive projects the company had developed. Renat demonstrated the business challenges the customers wanted to solve. He also explained how a NoSQL database accelerated by Hadoop enabled the customer to achieve great performance results in high-load applications.
NoSQL Now! is a conference dedicated to NoSQL technologies (not only SQL). The main aim of the event is to provide comprehensive information on various databases, including column, key-value, triple, and document stores, as well as XML, object, and graph databases. At the conference, possible areas of implementing these solutions are discussed. The major focus of the conference is database performance issues, big data analytics, and database reliability, availability, and scalability.
