The project was designed to improve developer experience for organizations running Kubernetes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/huntprod\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">James Hunt<\/a> of Stark &#038; Wayne presented a new project that uses Helm charts to install cf-for-k8s. For three months, James and the team have been trying out this installation method to evaluate cf-for-k8s for a variety of scenarios where an environment needs to be set up quickly. These scenarios include hands-on labs, demos for potential customers, and showing off research and development once Cloud Foundry is on top of Kubernetes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_54660\" style=\"width: 130px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.altoros.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/James-Hunt.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-54660\" src=\"https:\/\/www.altoros.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/James-Hunt-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-54660\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-54660\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><small>James Hunt<\/small><\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;One of the things that we&#8217;ve been experimenting with is instead of running Docker Hub for the image registry, we just spin the image registry on the Kubernetes cluster and wire that to Cloud Foundry for Kubernetes, so it&#8217;s all self-contained. At this point, we&#8217;re looking at these not as disposable Cloud Foundries, but ephemeral Cloud Foundries. The team also updated <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/cloudfoundry\/cf-for-k8s\/releases\/tag\/v1.1.0\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">cf-for-k8s v1.1.0<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 6px;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altoros.com\/blog\/cloud-foundry-advisory-board-meeting-jan-2020-kubecf-demo\/\">KubeCF<\/a> team released <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/cloudfoundry-incubator\/kubecf\/releases\/tag\/v2.5.8\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">KubeCF v2.7.1<\/a> that supports generic external blobstores.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 6px;\">The CAPI and Services API teams are finalizing the endpoints for <a href=\"http:\/\/v3-apidocs.cloudfoundry.org\/version\/3.93.0\/index.html#introduction\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Cloud Controller API v3<\/a>. Once finalized, v2 is expected to be supported well into 2021, while the teams transition to v3.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 6px;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altoros.com\/blog\/cloud-foundry-advisory-board-meeting-apr-2019-eirini-readiness\/\">Eirini<\/a> team delivered <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/cloudfoundry\/eirinireleases\/tag\/2.0.0\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Eirini v2<\/a>. The Foundation has also been running various hands-on labs including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altoros.com\/blog\/cloud-foundry-advisory-board-meeting-oct-2020-introducing-cf-protect\/\">CF Protect<\/a> and Try Cloud Foundry. He also noted that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altoros.com\/blog\/cloud-foundry-advisory-board-meeting-apr-2020-paketo-buildpacks\/\">Paketo<\/a> team is planning to conduct a hands-on lab next year.<\/p>\n<p>Chris&#8217;s latest bi-weekly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudfoundry.org\/blog\/bi-weekly-round-up-technical-ecosystem-updates-from-cloud-foundry-12-15-20\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">technical round-up<\/a> features notable releases and dates for the last few events of the year. In particular, CF Technical Governance meeting will take place on December 18 and CF for Kubernetes SIG meeting on December 22.<\/p>\n<p>The first CAB call next year is tentatively scheduled on January 20, 2021, at 8 a.m. PDT.
