The new framework offers &#8220;the ability to run on almost any IaaS cloud&#8221; and can manage &#8220;multiple different IaaS clouds at the same time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A PaaS for mobile applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Progress, a business application infrastructure software provider, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.informationweek.com\/cloud\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> their new platform for mobile applications, Progress Pacific. Designed to work with user-intensive mobile apps, the multi-tenant SaaS is hosted on Amazon Web Services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Changing live apps without compromising stability<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Qubell, an application deployment and configuration management company, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.informationweek.com\/cloud\">launched <\/a>Qubell&#x2122; Adaptive PaaS. The unique platform-as-a-service offering allows for introducing changes to web services without stopping them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A PaaS for .NET applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DiscountASP.NET, a Windows hosting company, has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prweb.com\/releases\/snapp-net-paas-beta\/elastic-cloud-hosting\/prweb10790736.htm\">launched <\/a>Snapp Systems, a new PaaS offering with configurable staging and production environments for .NET applications. Based on Windows Azure Services for Windows Server, the new solution provides scalability in combination with multiple developer features.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An IaaS\/SaaS toolset for application development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SmartFile, a provider of business file sharing and FTP hosting solutions, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intrado.com\/en\/digital-media\/globenewswire\/newswire-services\">announced <\/a>the release of their own file management platform. The combined IaaS\/SaaS offering boasts a wide range of advanced features for rapid application development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to save millions with PaaS?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GigaOM Pro, a provider of real-time analysis for a number of tech industries, released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20130618006437\/en\/GigaOM-Pro-Report-Private-PaaS-Features-JPMorgan\">report <\/a>on implementation of private PaaS within large-scale companies. In addition to listing new opportunities for enterprises, the report gives a number of real-life examples of how companies saved millions on building and migrating applications in the cloud.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AppFog purchased by CenturyLink<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Savvis, a provider of data center services owned by communications giant CenturyLink, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.datacenterdynamics.com\/focus\/archive\/2013\/06\/savvis-buys-paas-provider-appfog\/\">announced <\/a>that they had purchased AppFog, a PaaS company. Andrew Higginbotham, CTO of Savvis, said that this acquisition will help to expand Savvis\u2019 services to the rapidly growing PaaS market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OpenShift Online will cost $20 a month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Red Hat have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcworld.com\/article\/452348\/red-hats-openshift-paas-goes-live.html\">announced <\/a>that their OpenShift Online platform is now live and ready for commercial use with professional support and monthly fees that start at $20. Currently, the service hosted on Amazon attracts around 1,500 new customers every week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Engine Yard now supports Windows Azure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Engine Yard, a provider of multi-cloud PaaS solution, <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/PR-CO-20130626-909021.html?mod=googlenews_wsj#articleTabs%3Darticle\">announced <\/a>that their offering now includes support for Windows Azure. Other cloud companies that have partnered with Microsoft on Azure include Oracle, Salesforce.com, and NetSuite.<\/p>\n<p>This is all the PaaS news for now.
