They discussed the ways Altoros helps its customers to deal with big data and cloud initiatives.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/V_ARGz-ZQ7M\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Renat told a story of a company that improved its cloud architecture by opting for low-lewel technologies\u2014aiming for better performance.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOne gaming company was using Ruby on Rails and wanted to decrease the number of servers they use. They followed the example of another gaming company, which had 150 servers and used Ruby on Rails. They&#8217;ve realized they can do much better, so they rewritten it with plain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altoros.com\/blog\/performance-comparison-of-ruby-frameworks-sinatra-padrino-goliath-and-ruby-on-rails\/\">Ruby and Goliath<\/a>, which works on a much lower level and takes advantage of fibers (like more of a Rack server). As a result, they&#8217;ve got 15 servers. From 150 to 15\u2014that&#8217;s quite a lot of money saved on hosting bills.\u201d \u2014Renat Khasanshyn, CEO, Altoros<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At the end, Renat also noted the challenges that vendors face when following the trends.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great show to attend, a lot of great content. A lot of trends that have been started a few years ago, have now been reversed. It&#8217;s getting pretty dynamic. What we hear is that, in some technologies, some vendors are telling us, \u2018Well, it&#8217;s developing so quickly that even we, at our company (this was one of the Hadoop vendors), we try to follow it, but sometimes we just get behind, because it\u2019s drawing so fast\u2019.\u201d \u2014Renat Khasanshyn, CEO, Altoros<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_future_of_cloud_computing\"><\/span>The future of cloud computing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Renat also had a chance to take part in the <a href=\"http:\/\/cloudcomputing.sys-con.com\/node\/2427596\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">exclusive Q&amp;A<\/a> led by <a href=\"https:\/\/lizmcmillan.sys-con.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Liz McMillan<\/a> of the Cloud Expo team. This brief fireside chat centered around the issues important to enterprise cloud users.
