class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/nataliavassilieva\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Natalia Vassilieva<\/a> of Hewlett Packard Labs demonstrated a use case on applying deep learning for industrial purposes. In this session, she touched upon the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Would deep learning work for sensor data and why?<\/li>\n<li>Does the existing infrastructure \/ algorithms fit sensor data?<\/li>\n<li>The machine and distributed mesh computing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She also spoke about the challenges of DNN training, overviewed the types of artificial neural networks, analyzed the evolution of IoT, and made some predictions for the future of deep learning and edge analytics.<\/p>\n<p><center><script charset=\"ISO-8859-1\" src=\"\/\/fast.wistia.com\/assets\/external\/E-v1.js\" async><\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"wistia_embed wistia_async_yfgi1teerw\" style=\"height:360px;width:640px\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><\/center><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Industrial_use_cases_deep_learning_in_aerospace\"><\/span>Industrial use cases: deep learning in aerospace<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In their presentation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/vivekvmenon\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Vivek Venugopalan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/giering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael Giering<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/kishore-kumar-reddy-0616ab20\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Kishore Reddy<\/a> of United Technologies Research Center (UTCR) introduced the audience to deep learning activities carried out at UTCR and provided an overview of their GPU infrastructure. Furthermore, 85% of this data is held in unstructured formats.
